Houses at Christ Church

At Christ Church School we operate a House system. This means that every child is allocated a House to which they belong for the duration of their time in school. The Houses are named after Cathedrals, a decision made by our school council representatives.

These are the  four Houses, with their house colour:

St Alban’s (Yellow)

Canterbury (Blue)

Salisbury (Green)

York (Red)

Our House system helps to nurture friendships and responsibility. It encourages our children to develop skills such as cooperation, working as a team, perseverance and diligence.

Each of the Houses has an elected Year 6 House Captain and Vice- Captain who represent the House at the School’s Council meetings and are responsible for counting up the House Points and overseeing tasks for the House.

They also plan House events such as House Breakfasts, competitions and trips.

The House and Vice Captains have chosen two qualities that they would like the children in their house to particularly emulate. This year they have chosen the following:

Canterbury- Perseverance and Politeness

York- Trustworthiness and Helpfulness

St Albans- Determination and Caring

Salisbury- Resourcefulness and Diligence.
