Home Learning
We encourage our children to be inquisitive and enthusiastic learners. This extends to learning outside of school as well as during the school day.
We value home learning and the impact it can have, if completed in a supportive environment, on children's progress and ability. Excellent communication between home and school is essential and we are keen to support parents with their children's learning at home.
Homework goes beyond just the task itself and helps children take control of their workload and develop study skills. The amount of homework and the content of homework impacts significantly on it's value.
In EYFS and Year 1 our homework is set weekly on Tapestry Accounts which parents access. There is a constant dialogue between home and school.
In Y2 - Y5 homework is weekly and each child has a Google Classroom account to access and hand in their work. Each child also has a Tapestry account which they manage themselves, (in Y3-Y6), and share their school learning with home.
In Y6 homework is daily with the intention of preparing children for their secondary school experience.
There is an optional Key Stage 2 Homework Club, run by members of staff, to support children and families with homework.
