Y6 visit St Albans Cathedral

Last Friday Y6 visited St Albans Cathedral as part of this year’s RE week. We had a tour looking at the cathedral as a place of worship and it’s relevance for the modern day in the morning and then a brass rubbing workshop in the afternoon. Did you know that a cathedral is a place which contains a cathedra which is the bishop’s special seat? Jayden had the opportunity to try it out!

Jayden in a bishop’s cope and mitre. The cathedra is just behind him.
We looked at some brasses near to the altar before making our own brass rubbings.
